Acorn Minutes for April 3, 2007
Board in Attendance: Wendy Davis, Lordelyn del Rosario-Dacanay, Michelle Jones, Marcia Burton
Members of the public/members/staff: Wendy McCully, Trina and Rick Bergman
Call to order – Meeting opened at 9:10 am
I. Treasury Report
A. Michelle reported the current balance to be $6,694.47. Wendy D. made a motion to approve the treasury report. Lordelyn seconded. Unanimous vote in favor of the motion.
II. 2007-2008 Grant Review
A. Wendy D is waiting for the final letter from letters of partnership.
III. Fundraising Items
A. Scholarship letter has been sent out. The T-shirt order has also been placed and we should receive in two weeks.
IV. School Readiness Letter Review
A. Wendy D. relayed information from meeting with Jeane. If we decide to go through with School Readiness, Acorn will have to be in the process of being licensed.
B. Wendy D. will need changes to School Readiness Letter by April 4, 2007.
V. Registrar Report
A. Marcia will be writing letters of intention for members returning next year. Letters will be in cubbies this week.
VI. Safe At Home Day and Butterfly Festival
A. Jane Saint and Sarah Matlock has volunteered to represent Acorn at the First 5 booth for Safe At Home fair
B. Butterfly Festival – ACP will participate in butterfly release on Saturday, May 5 at 3 pm. ACP will also create “butterfly” artwork to display in shop windows. During Butterfly release ceremony, kids will wear t-shirts.
VII. ACP Newsletter
A. Lyn to e-mail newsletter to members.
VIII. CCPPNS conference review
A. Wendy M discussed licensing, program administration, and alternative cleaning solutions
B. Regarding cleaning solutions, Michelle made a motion to use and buy H2 Orange cleaner for ACP. Unanimous vote in favor of the motion.
IX. Items for discussion
A. Wendy D requested funds for a new vacuum cleaner for school. Michelle made a motion to allow funds for a new vacuum cleaner for school. Wendy D. seconded. Unanimous vote in favor of the motion.
B. Parent responsibilities worksheet – tracking performance. Wendy M discussed grid.
C. Last day for school is June 14th.
Next meeting will be Tuesday, May 1, 8:30 am. Meeting adjourned 10:45 am.
