DAILY DUTIES IN CLASSROOM

Included here is an example schedule of the DAILY DUTIES that will be posted. These duties include such things as class prep/clean-up, snack prep/clean-up, and art prep/clean-up, You only need to sign up for at least three duties per month, and everyone needs to take the garbage bag once a quarter (on thursdays only).

There is a sign up clipboard and a white dry-erase board in the classroom for daily sign ups. (Be sure to note it on the clipboard, so it is recorded.) Here is a list of DAILY JOBS and their descriptions:

Toy Washing. Fill big kitchen sink with 4-5" of hot water and add about an 1/8 cup of bleach. This water stays in sink during entire class so that plastic toys can be dropped in for sterilization, as well as plastic food baskets after lunch. After toys have soaked at least 2 minutes, you can take them out and lay them on a towel on the counter to dry. When dry, they go back to their "homes" in the classroom.

Snack Prep. Prepare snack for snack time at 10:30. (You can do it as early as you want, like during circle time, etc.) Count the names of the students' on check in list, and prepare baskets in the kitchen with snacks. Use the plastic baskets with a napkin in them, and you can put in your choice of snack, raisins, crackers, cherios, cheese, fruit, etc. Also, please clear tables in eating area and wipe them down with the chlorine/H2O spray bottle mix.

Snack Clean Up. Collect baskets and cups. Put remains in garbage can, put plastic baskets in big kitchen sink with the H2O/Chloring mix in it. Let soak at least 2 minutes, then put on a towel on counter to dry. Also please wipe snack tables off, and sweep up any large debris on the floor.

Art/activity Set Up. At early morning, and mid-morning, set up activities as per teacher's instructions.

Art/activity Clean Up. Clear tables, put away items, spray tables with H20/chlorine mix and wipe clean.

Sweep/Vacume. Around 11:45 please start to sweep up in both rooms, and vacume carpets.

Garbage Duty. Thursday Only. Each family will need to take the the Acorn garbage can bag of trash away for disposal, each family will need to take it once a quarter. (The church does not have a garbage service, so we are responsible for carting out our own trash.)
