Acorn General Information and Important Dates

February 12, 2008--Mariposa schools are on a two hour delay due to weather.  As a result, Preschool is cancelled for today.

BOARD MEETINGS are ususally the thrid friday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at Hansen Hall. All members are invited to attend.

Please plan to attend the mandatory Parent Meeting Tuesday, January 15th, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Monthly Tuition per child is $30 beginning August 2007. (infants 0 to 6 months are free if they are attending with older siblings in the program. If any child 0-6 months is attending without siblings, they will be charged the $30 per month fee to attend) This is a 10 month program, so each child pays $250 per year. Fees are due by the 5th of every month. A drop box will be on the parent table for checks.

COST BREAKDOWN: Each child in preschool (if attending all classes offered throughout the year), will receive 400 classroom hours. 400 hours/$250 = $1.60 per hour. Compare that with a kickboxing, or ballet lesson at $10 per hour and you can appreciate the value our program provides Mariposa children and their families.

Again, as previously announced there is also an annual $30 enrollment fee per family due at the Aug 23 mandatory Parent Meeting.

The Enrollment Cap is currently set at 30 children total (including infants) We have decided on this number to further move the program toward the lower enrollment numbers required co-inside with licensed (drop-off, non-parent attending) preschools. ACP is not a licensed program, and does not fall under licensing regulations due to the required parent/guardian who attendend with every child.

SNOW DAYS ANNOUNCEMENTS Please check here for whether school has been cancelled due to snow/weather. Note: Acorn follows the Mariposa School District snow day cancellation schedule.

We will NOT be calling families, but relying on members to check the wicki site for this information, or alternatively, feel free to call a board member for information on cancellations. (Families who do not have email WILL be called if we do need to make a cancellation.)
